CoV-Prot, COVID-19 Proteomics data

The world’s first endeavor at the curation of mass spectrometry-based host proteomics of SARS-CoV-2 for the user-friendly search, data visualization, and easy data accessibility to the scientific and medical community. This portal has been developed by Proteomics Laboratory, IIT Bombay, and is work in progress to inform future Covid-19 proteomics research and development and planetary health scholarship.

A rundown on the portal

CoV-Prot aims to develop a web-based portal that will provide mass spectrometry-based information on a particular protein from different clinical studies conducted across the globe. This information will cover the data from multiple specimens like a swab, plasma, semen, serum and multiple organs. Data extracted from the literature has been curated manually and re-analyzed using a single tool for all the studies to get high-precision output data from the portal. This portal will allow its users to look into the clinical parameters of the patients used for the studies, included in the portal. This systematic accumulation of data curated by experts will provide substantial coverage of host-related proteomics data of SARS-CoV-2 that will act as a community resource and would be used as a foundation for various research in the future.
